Fast Track Data Warehouse Reference Architecture for SQL Server 2014
I have previously blogged about the Fast Track Data Warehouse, a reference configuration optimized for data warehousing (see Microsoft SQL Server Reference Architecture and Appliances). That was version 3.0 of the reference configuration that was for SQL Server 2008 R2. Released a couple of years ago was version 4.0 for SQL Server 2012 (download). Now appearing is Fast Track Data Warehouse solutions for SQL Server 2014 (see What’s New for Data Warehouse Fast Track for SQL Server 2014 white paper). These solutions can be ordered now. These are solutions validated by Microsoft for deploying SMP data warehouse on SQL Server 2014 EE:

Thank you for sharing the update with the community. The FTRA is a key document for me to ensure my clients get the most ROI from their infrastructure spend.
Hi Louw, please read my review about the EMC white paper on http://wportp.blogspot.co.uk/ before making recommendations to your clients.

Hi James, I read the EMC paper in great detail, and I worry for the people using these papers as a basis to recommend something to their clients. I have posted my first ever blog here http://wportp.blogspot.co.uk/ reviewing and commenting on the paper. In my view, it’s horrifying how little EMC care on actually producing a quality document that 1000’s of people will use to reference and implement to find out that they have just wasted all that money.
